What to expect following your plasma skin tightening treatment.

If you’re reading this you are probably considering getting a fibroblast plasma skin tightening treatment and want to know what to expect. Or perhaps you are a beauty or skin specialist and you are thinking of adding the service to your treatment menu. slot88

It’s important to know what you are getting in for before you book a treatment. The Fibroblast Plasma recovery time is not for everyone, and you need to know how to look after your skin during the healing process.

You should allow a minimum of 10 days between the treatment and any important events where you may be self-conscious or expecting to be photographed such as a public speaking event or a wedding.

This healing time may be shorter for some (and often is!) but it is always better to allow more time for your skin to recover, just in case. The duration of the healing time is dependant on the following factors:

  • The device and applicator that is used to perform the Fibroblast Plasma Treatment
  • The intensity of the Fibroblast Plasma treatment
  • Your skins natural recovery and response
  • The area that is being treated

The finer the tip of the plasma applicator and the lighter the treatment intensity, the shorter the recovery time will be. Our Fibrolift™ device uses the finest applicator on the market, and our specially formulated aftercare products significantly reduce this downtime. Both are available for purchase through our online training academy and store here.

It is extremely important to protect the treated area from UV rays for up to 3 months following the Fibroblast Plasma Treatment.

This is because the treated area will form new skin, and this new skin is delicate and takes time to build up a proper barrier to protect against the harmful rays from the sun. Especially in Australia, we need to be vigilant and protect against the sun as much as possible.

With that point in mind, DO NOT BOOK YOUR TREATMENT BEFORE A SUMMER VACATION!

Absolutely no beach holidays or sun baking at all for 3 months. If you are expecting to be outside in the sun for longer than 30 minutes you must protect the area with either a 50+ SPF suncream, or a physical barrier such as zinc, and a very large hat.

I treated some frown lines on my forehead 6 months ago and following my treatment I kept the area covered with a fancy headscarf as much as possible until my skin was fully healed. The upside to the pandemic in 2020 is that many of my clients who have fibroblast plasma on their upper lip and marionette lines can keep the treatment area both hidden and protected from the sun behind a facemask! rtp slot

Before we go any further it’s important to understand how the treatment is performed. Plasma Fibroblast treatments are a type of electrofulguration. Yep, that’s a lot of syllables for one word!

There is a thin applicator that looks like a needle at the end of the Fibroblast pen, and this applicator creates a plasma spark that jumps from the applicator to the surface of the skin. At no point does the applicator itself touch the skin’s surface. The plasma spark releases heat into the surrounding skin and causes the evaporation of excess water and skin cells. The result is a pinpoint ‘burn’ (also known as a reduction point) that shrinks the surrounding skin surface area. Plasma artists will place these tiny reduction points in specific patterns to target unwanted excess skin. This allows the artist to treat a multitude of different areas including upper eyelids, forehead, tummy, upper lip, and pretty much anywhere else that you would like tighter skin. bonus new member

So now let’s get to the real reason you are here…

How does the area look for the 10 days following your Fibroblast Plasma Treatment?

Immediately following Fibroblast Plasma Treatment :

You will see some redness and some minor swelling in the treated area. You will see the reduction points, how they look will depend on your plasma artist’s treatment method.

If your plasma artist has been properly trained they will have cooled the treated skin to remove the residual heat, and removed as much of the carbon from the reduction points as possible. Doing this will decrease any discomfort from the treatment, reduce swelling, as well as improve the appearance of the skin during the healing process, and promote faster healing time.

If your artist has not removed the carbon you will see the reduction points as brown dots.

Day 2 :

The area may be swollen and tender. If you had your treatment in the eye area, it is very common to experience swelling for the 24 hours following your treatment. The reduction points will be visible and the surrounding skin will appear red.

Your artist should have supplied you with an appropriate camouflage cream that is specially formulated for use on the treated area. If they have not supplied this to you you can purchase ours here.

If you don’t want to purchase our product you can use any mineral-based foundation, along with an SPF 50+ or zinc for sun protection. DO NOT USE ANY OIL-BASED MAKEUP ON THE AREA!

Day 3 :

The swelling should have started to reduce. Some treatment areas will take longer for the swelling to subside, particularly scars and stretch marks as this skin is not the same as healthy skin.

Fibroblast Treatment Recovery Time

Day 4 :

We teach our plasma artists to use a dry healing method with their clients.

By this time the reduction points should have started to form tiny dry scabs.

You should not be experiencing any pain in the treatment area by this stage. If the area is still hot to touch, and painful, you may have an infection. Contact your plasma artist if you have any concerns at this stage of the healing process. Note that some redness is normal throughout the entire healing process, and especially new skin will appear red for a month or sometimes up to three months depending on the treatment area.

Fibroblast Treatment Recovery Time

Day 5-6 :

The redness should start to dissipate from around the reduction points. There should be no pain at all.

Fibroblast Treatment Recovery Time

Day 7-8 :

The area may start to become itchy and the tiny scabs may start to become flakey. Do not scratch or pick at them. If the itching is very bad you can use hydrocortisone cream on the area, but be sure to apply any products very carefully so as not to cause unnecessary friction against the area.

Fibroblast Plasma Recovery Time

Day 8 -10:

The final days of healing.

During this time the dry scabs will naturally fall off by themselves to reveal the new skin underneath.

The new skin may appear red. This is completely normal and it can take up to 3 months for normal skin colour to return. This new skin is very vulnerable so it is extremely important to keep it protected from the sun. Our specially formulated camouflage cream contains zinc and offers the best protection against UV rays. You can purchase it online here : LINK
